MAKUTO
Makuto was the worst abuse case Amy had ever seen. When she turned up at the yard with him, this was the one that no-one believed she could help He was even
impossible to hold on a lead rope and soon the extent of the abuse became apparent. This horse would literally turn himself inside out and try and run through walls (once succeeding) rather than be just touched. At one point even our vet suggested she have him put down.....Amy clung on to one thing .. that no matter how scared this little horse was he would never kick or bite or be at all aggresive or threatening.
Amy worked day and sometimes nights with this little man and it took about 6 months for her to get the tack on and then another 6 months of mishaps, rodeos and a lot of falls to get on, but Amy has stood by him where probably no-one else would and he is now a different horse. He has left the comfort of Amy and found the confidence to find a friend in Kerry and has now taking part in the Barrel Racing and is starting to do a few Trick Riding exercises.
Watch out for Makuto in next years shows!!!
